Making of the Website
I decided to finally make my Website, which I have been planning for a while. Sadly I never really got into the Flow of actually making it.
But after my YouTube recommendations showed me again some Videos about the Indie Web and NeoCities, I finally got the Motivation to my Web Page. The Primary Videos that got me interested were The Success Disaster of the Cookie and The COOLER Internet.
Now we come to the actual History and Creation of my Blog. The first thing I had as an Idea was using a Static Site Generator, specifically Hugo. But after tinkering with it for a while, I didn't really get into the flow and Interest of Continuing it. So I abandoned it. While Hugo is cool It wasn't what I was looking for. So I Continued searching until I finally decided (specifically after those two Videos) to do it in pure HTML and CSS. Which went quite well.
But the Creation of the Website was only one half of the Web Page. Because now I need to Host it somewhere. The First Idea I had was to host it on my Home Lab, but that would be a Security Concern, as I don't want to have a permanently exposed Port on my Network. So I decided for a Hoster. The Host I went with was Hetzner, as I already host my Domain, Mail Server and Monitoring Server there.
Luckly I didn't have to buy a new Server, as I already have my Monitoring Server setup with a Caddy Server and docker. Which means I can simply mount the Page to the Caddy Docker container and Point it in the Caddyfile.
After Pointing the DNS to Caddy Server I was finished and my Site was Online.
